Fiberbond®FR & Fiberbond®JF

Developed by Future Pipe Industries, Fiberbond® FR and Fiberbond®JF is a special Glass fiber Reinforced Vinyl ester (GRV) pipe system that can withstand fire temperatures of up to 1200 Degrees Celsius. Suitable for applications which demand high fire resistance, WavistrongTM FR helps to ensure the safety of offshore platforms and oil refineries.

Building upon our proven technology, FIBERBOND FR and FIBERBOND JF are the proven solution for above ground fire mains, it can withstand jet fires for combined dry and flowing conditions for up to 60 minutes.

FIBERBOND FR and FIBERBOND JF is available up to 1,600 mm in diameter and pressures up to 70 Barg in both the standard and electrically conductive series.

FIBERBOND® Engineered Composite Piping Systems
All FIBERBOND® products use a glass-fiber reinforcement bound in a resin matrix. The glass-fibers provide the strength and the resin matrix provides the superior corrosion resistance. Together, the composite attains the excellent properties of both components. FIBERBOND® products are filament wound products using a winding angle of 54°, which is the principal axis of loading for internal pressure. FIBERBOND® Series 20HV, 20FR-E, 20FR16, 20FR20, 20JF, 20JF16, and 110FW among others, utilize this winding pattern.

The resin systems used vary from isophthalic polyesters and epoxy vinyl esters to specialty resins for custom applications. The glass reinforcement includes filament rovings and unidirectional and bi-directional woven products.

Advantages of FIBERBOND® Piping Systems

  • Corrosion Resistant – both internally and externally
  • Lightweight
  • Design Flexibility
  • Economical
  • Excellent Flow Properties
  • Low Heat Transfer Properties
  • FIBERBOND® TigerWrapTM is a proprietary butt wrap lamination system that can be visually inspected and tested for degree of cure prior to hydrotesting.
  • Excellent Fire Endurance – without the use of fire blankets, insulation, intumescent coatings, or phenolic resins
  • Type Approvals – from ABS, Lloyds, DNV and the USCG
  • Electrically Conductive Products, when needed – grounding system is more reliable and easier to install than a discrete-conductive filament system
  • Design Catalogs – now available in Aveva’s V PDMS, CAD3D, and Bentley Open Plant.

Available jointing systems:

  • Tiger Wrap Lamination Joint
