Gerard Becker celebrates 50th Anniversary with Future Pipe Netherlands.

On August 10th a remarkable milestone has been reached. Gerard Becker has reached his 50th anniversary as operator at FPI BV!! As a 15-year-old boy Gerard had finished the Lower Technical School and wanted to work as a carpenter. Because there was little demand for carpenters at the time, he started working at Wavin in Hardenberg, the Netherlands in 1971. He started with a traineeship for which he worked in various departments within Wavin. After several years, positions were moved within Wavin. As a result, Gerard ended up in 1978 at Future Pipe Industries (Wavin Repox) in the Fitting department, which at the time was part of Wavin. Not knowing at the time that this was the start of a beautiful and long career at Future Pipe Industries! Currently Gerard is still working in the Fitting department and still working in shifts. Gerard enjoys cycling to work every day and in those 50 years he has only come to work a few times by car. Gerard also sports twice a week to stay fit and to keep up with the work. Retirement is also getting closer, hopefully he can start enjoying it in June next year. Gerard, congratulations on your 50th anniversary!!
